Shadowhunters

Finished City of Bones (Mortal Instruments) by Cassandra Clare. I loved this book. Very addicting. Characters are easy to understand and you get attached to them right off. Its a very different kind of supernatural book then from what I am used to. I already wanna run out and buy the next book in the series. Not much more to say about this book without giving away to much. Twilighters and Sookie Stackhouse lovers will love this book and the different spin on the supernatural worlds.

Gonna start The Living Dead Edited by John Joseph Adams, its a collection of zombie stories form many authors including Stephan King, and Kelly Link. Love zombie movies so lets see how I like written stories about them.

Lets me get into the CSI universe for a bit longer then I normal get to on a daily bases. Collins is very good at keep the characters faithful to the ones on the show. Make me laugh makes me feel for them. I love murder mysterys in general so this is right up my alley. Next book run gonna get the next one in line.

Gonna start City of Bones (Mortal Instruments) by Cassandra Clare. This is the first book in the series very excited about this series, if I enjoy this one will add it to the rotation to make it last longer.

Gotta love Sookie

Did I mention before how much I love the Sookie Stackhouse novels? Well I will again. Finished Defiantly Dead by Charlaine Harris. Up late last night finishing it cause I could not put it down. The more books in this series I read the more invested I become in the characters I become. I feel Sookie's emtions the most mainly cause she is the main character. I laugh when she laughs I feel sad when she feels sad. Just love it. Gonna have to pace myself more in this series cause I so wanna go out and but the next book right now.

On that note gonna start CSI: Cold Burn by Max Allan Collins soon, most likey tomarrow or monday.

Dark thoughts...

So took me forever to read Stephen King Goes to the Movies by Stephen King cause I started a new job and school semester is ending so everything is piling up. Enjoyed this book although I relized have way through one of the stories, Low Men in Yello Coats, I had read before. Enjoyed the other stories a ton. Have to watch the movir Children of the Corn and The Mangler. I hope the movies are as good as the stories were. Anywho went to the book store today and got four more books, holla.

Gonna start Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith, soon hopeful tomorrow night. Has were wolves and vampires in it, so excited.

Middles ages baby

Finally finished Grave Goods by Ariana Franklin. I liked this book but something about it could not hold my attention that the other books I have been reading have been able to. I think I may need to read the other books Ariana Franklin in her Mistriss of Death series. My mom said that they could be read independently. But I feel I'm missing something. The concept is great and I love stories that take place in the middle ages. Although I do not like the way women were treated back then. But these books are about a women breaking the rules, so I like it.

Gonna start Stephen King Goes to the Movies by Stephen King tomorrow. Its basically a collection of stories in which movies were made of. Very excited about this book. I have read tons of his books and was excited to find one that I had not read yet.

The Fury and Dark Reunion

Finished The Vampire Diaries: The Fury and Dark Reunion by L.J. Smith. Spectacular book, one of those ones once you start reading it its hard to put down. Also think I liked this one better cause everything is already established in the story and characters so you don't have to read though the explanations of everything over again. Bonnie is by far my favorite character. She reminds me of myself in some ways. I think there is another book in this series that has been recently released, which I will have to get my hands on. They are also making this series into a TV show on the WB. But from what I have heard about it makes me a little nervous. They seem to be changing the plot and characters which is disappointing cause the books are so great them selves. Well I guess on screen adaptions are never as good as the book.

Going to start Grave Goods by Ariana Franklin tonight or tomorrow. My mom read this book and said I would love it. Its about a women in Henry II time who is called by the king to study the remains of what is thought to be King Arther and Queen Guinevere. Seems like all the stuff I'm into rolled into one.

I wanna be a vampire's assistant

Finished Cirque Du Freak #1: A Living Nightmare: Book 1 in the Saga of Darren Shan by Darren Shan today. Enjoyed this book, I like how its told from a first person point of view like the Sookie Stackhouse books. I think that really helps you connect with the caharacters even more then you normally would. This story is about a young boy who goes to see a freak show and end up becoming a vampire's assistant to save his best friend. This book was mainly explaining how he got in this pickle. There are twleve books in the series so I'm hoping there will be more action in the next couple of books. Plan on reading on in this series, added to the list of to buy.

Gonna start
The Vampire Diaries: The Fury and Dark Reunion by L.J. Smith. Excited about this book, since I finished the first one and bought this booka and made myself wait to read it. :)

who are you who who

Finished CSI:Sin City by Max Allan Collins today between classes. Enjoyed this book, well frankly I love anything to do with CSI. The only thing I did not like about this is that the book tended to center on Grissom and Catherine. As much as I love them I feel the other characters are not getting as much face time. But I am happy that Brass and the other detectives get so much face time within in the book. I plan on my next book buying adventure, I plan on getting the next one that he had written.

Started
Cirque Du Freak #1: A Living Nightmare: Book 1 in the Saga of Darren Shan by Darren Shan. I like this book. Easy read though most likley will finish it by tommarow or so.

Sookie my sister

Finished Dead as a Doornail by Charlanie Harris. Number five in the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Think this may be my favorite one so far. I really like how Sookie gets intoroduced to the inner world of shap shifters and werwolves. They are my favorite supernatural creatures so it makes me happy. Sookie makes me laugh and she is very easy to relate to. She thinks like you would think in the same setting. I'm just amazed that she hangs out with so many sexy men so much and never really makes a move on any of them besides two, who both happen to be vampires. But great books, and I don't wanna give away to many things since I have no idea how many of you have read this far in the series. Highly recomended.

Gonna start, CSI:Sin City by Max Allan Collins either tonight or tomorrow. I loved Double Dealer by this author so I'm hoping that this one will be just as good.

Pagan Stone

Finished Pagan Stone by Nora Roberts the final book of her sign of seven trilogy. I loved this series, out of all the Nora Roberts books I have read have to say that I enjoyed this series the most. Makes you laugh makes you cry and you become super attached to the characters. Was a little disappointed with this final book though. Thought things became to predictable in the end though. You know from the first book who's gonna get paired off with who. This book though had more background information about the two people it revolved around. Which I liked and thought Roberts could have done more of this with the other books of the series. Altogether though very good read all three of the books. Combines romance with the supernatural which I am a huge fan of as we know.

Started Dead as a Doornail by Charlanie Harris. Like the Twilight books these are like crack to me. Enjoying this book so much I almost skipped class just to read it. Love love love.

Smell the Shadows

Finished The Scent of Shadows(First Sign of the Zodiac) by Viki Pettersson yesterday while I was home sick. Yes instead of working on homeworl while I was home I read and finished the knitting project I was working on. Book number 20 woot woot. This was a very good book, i picked it up on a whim with my other birthday books. Now I'm addicted to it. Its all about this women who was raped as a teenager and how she coped till her 25 birthday. Then her whole world is turned upside down when she is basicly told she is choosen one for the Zodiac side of Light. A whole new world is opened up to her. I thoughly enjoyed this book. Went looking for the second one in series today at Barnes and Noble but of course they did not have it. Bought four other books though so I guess it will be a bit before I read the next book.

Started Pagan Stone by Nora Roberts. Final book in her Sign of Seven trilogy. I'm excited to see the conclusion to this series.

Book 19 holla...

Finished The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening and The Struggle by L. J. Smith. Freakning awesome book, well actually two voulmes in one. Its very addictive to read. Almost, dare I say it as Twilight. But as with other books in series I'm gonna try and pace my self. Easy fun read. Charaters really draw you in. I like hw its slighty differnt form girl falls in love with vampire that theire is this other darker brother who she shares feeling for. Who actually has a chance of winning her over in the end. I like that cause then you truely don't know who she is ment for unlike Twilight where you know shes gonna end up with Edward. Also like how the book ended with questions unandswered, no happy ending to it.

Only two more books left in my large pile of books I bought with my birthday money I need to read. But yet already have several books I wanna buy once I finished the pile. Gonna start The Scent of Shadows(First Sign of the Zodiac) by Viki Pettersson either tomarrow or the day after. Picked this book up completly on a whim excited to read it though.

The Unauthorized Guide..think I know why

Finished The Twilight Companion: The Unauthorized Guide to the Series by Lois H. Gresh. today. I was a little disapointed by this book. Some parts made me laugh and I could really relate to. But I disliked the way the author talked about werewolves within the book. I feel like she had missed a huge part of how the werewolves are in the Twilight Saga. She relates them to other werewolves which is fine amd she does the same with the Cullens as compared to other vampires. But yet she seems to rag on Jacob and his pack a little to much for me tastes. I feel that in writing a guide she should be a little more even keeled about about both Edward and Jacob.

I plan to start
The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening and The Struggle by L. J. Smith. So excited about this have heard nothing but good things about these books.

Who watches the Watchmen

I finally finished Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons on Friday. I loved ever page of this book. There is so much going on I feel I need to read it again just to make sure I did not miss anything. I also saw the movie on Friday. Amazing very faithful to the book which made me super happy. Nothing I can not stand more then movies based off books that don't follow the book. Also love the art work in this book as well. Even though I tend not to be a big fan of comics from the eighties but made oh man did this change my mind. Highly recommend this book, for everyone. As well as the movie.

I love CSI

Just finished reading Double Dealer : Crime Scene Investigation by Max Allan Collins. Number 16 of books I have read this year. Love this book first of the CSI books I have read. Jsut as good as the show I think. But yet I am a rabid fan of the show so it may not be a good judge of it. I plan on reading the otther CSI novels soon as well. Once I work my way through the pile of books I bought with my birthday money. Read Vampire Knight(vol 1) by Matsuri Hino and Inubaka:Crazy for dogs (vol 11) by Yukiya Sakuragi count as number 15. Still working on Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons need ti finish it by friday so that will be number 17. Started The Twilight Companion: The Unauthorized Guide to the Series by Lois H. Gresh. Only read a couple of pages but enjoying it so far.

Knitting, comics and vampires...

Finished reading Unravel Me by Christie Ridgway. Book number 13 for me. Good easy entertaining read. Basically about a women who's husband passed away a year ago, and is is searching for something more in her life. Along the way she meets her two half sisters and the man of her dreams, Noah. Not as much knitting in it as I would like but still a good read. Started Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Loving it so far so excited for the movie to come out next week. Also finished reading voulme 3 and 4 of Rosario and Vampire, by Akihisa Ikeda. Love this magna its just the right combination of supernatural and magna work. So that makes a total of 14 books read so far this year.

All four read..

Finished Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyers a few days ago. Finally finished the Twilight Saga. The last book was very interesting to say the least. I liked how she wrote it in three sections fianlly with another characters point of view besides Bella. Don't get me wrong I love Bella but she drives me nutter some times. I love love this series. But yet I was kinda disappointed with the ending. I guess everyone saw it ending a different way so, it must have been hard to satisfy everyone.

Read the third volume of Rosario and Vampire by Askihisa Ikeda. Counting it as half a book, so until I read another manga then it will be a whole book.

Can't Fight the Eclipse

Finished reading Eclipse by Stephenie Meyers. Been a while since I have read in this saga. Forgot how addicting it is. Finished the 500+ book in less then four days. Gonna start Breaking Dawn tonight. I love these books so much. I want closure of the final book, but part of me wants it to never end. Like the Sookie Stackhouse novels you just get drawn into this world that you never want to end. If you have not read this series I highly suggest it, but be forewarned once you start this series its hard to stop till you have read them all.

Also got my book mark from my bookmark swap today. The cutest moggle book buddy created by danaew on Raverly. I love him and will use it for every book I read. : )

Bridal rippers with a twist

My mother has always refereed to romance novels bridal rippers. Makes me laugh and makes sense as well. Finished Touch of the Wolf by Susan Krinard. Its the story of a man who is the Earl of Geryburn and he is on a mission to keep his families werewolf line alive by finding suitable mates for himself and his siblings. A long lost cousin is found who is descended to marry his younger brother. Yet he falls in love with her, and in turn has to reveil his hurtful past to her. I enjoyed this book cause like Nora Roberts', Sign of Seven series. It combines the supernatural with romance. I thoughly enjoyed this book and plan to read the other books in the series.

As of right now I'm haveing the great debate about re-reading Twilight or reading Eclipse for the first time. Think I'm gonna read Eclipse and then Breaking Dawn this week since I'm off from school. So I will have the time to throughly enjoy them. : )

More supernatural baby with some romance.

So finished reading The Hallow by Nora Roberts yesterday. Book two of her sign of seven trilogy. I love Nora Roberts work cause she combines supernatural stuff with romance is great way. The series is about three men with the same birthday as youngsters released evil upon their home town. Ever seven years people in the town go crazy and basically all hell breaks loose. After surviving it twice before, three women are drawn to their town that will change their lives. Blood Brothers is the first book of the series so read that first. I'm excited to get my hands on Pagan Stone the last of the series. But as with my other books in series I'm trying to space it out to make it last longer.

Also read the first volume in the manga series Rosario and Vampire by Askihisa Ikeda. Very cute series so far. Its about this boy who can not get into any other high school and ends up at a school for monsters. In the first three pages of the book he meets a vampire. As well as many other magical beings. I have the secon volume I plan on reading tommarow or tonight. Very excited to read more in this series.

Planet Janet

Finished reading Planet Janet by Dyan Sheldon late last night. My mom actually got me this form the dollar store a while ago. Its basically reading the diary of a sixteen year old girl in London. She talks about everything from her crazy family to her adventures in vegetarianism. Its very funny, made me laugh alot. Its very down to earth about what real families are like and how it is to be a teenager. Highly recommended if you looking for a quick read that you can relate to and that will make you laugh out loud.

Now I am haveing the great debate about weather to start The Hallow by Nora Roberts next or re-read Twilight. So many books so little time. : )

I run with Werewolves.

Finished Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris today. Loved this book so much. Don;t get me wrong I love Bill, Eric and all the other vampires. But shifters, werewolves to be exact are mt favorite supernatural being. In this book Sookie gets much more involved in the shifter and witches world. Which I enjoyed thoroughly this book, possibly more so then the other three of the series I have read. The Sookie Stackhouse novels are the perfect combo of funnt and supernatural. They will make you laugh, get tear eyes and sometimes go ew. Yet another highly recomended book. Although do start at the beginnging of the series, new comers.

In other news, started classes agian so swamped with school work as usally. Last semester as a undergraduate. Woot woot. Single again, recently broke it off with the guy I was seeing, since we wanted differnt things. Which is a shame cause I really thought he was the one. Oh well at least I have my knitting to keep me company.

Untamed

Finished reading Untamed (Book four of the House of Night series) by P.C and Kristin Cast this morning. I truly enjoy this series even if it is a little on the juvenile side. For those of you who don't know the House of Night series. It is basically about how teenagers are chosen to attend the House of Night. Where they learn to become adult vampyres. The books follow Zoey Redbird and her time at the school. So far there are four books, the fifth one coming out in March. If you like the Twilight Saga you will enjoy these books. Highly recommenced them.

Love me some Cap'n Jack

Just finished Another Life(Torchwood Novel) by Peter Anghelides today. I originaly bought this novel do to my addiction to the show. (which I'm hoping comes back to BBC soon) Easy, and enjoyable read. Combines both the crazy sci fi stuff and funny characters that you will become attached to. Each character is portrayed as they are in the show with thier differnt personilites. I plan on reading the other novels as well. Each book is written by a differnt author, just like each episode is directed by a differnt person in the series. Highly recomend this novel to anyone who enjoys the show or enjoys the sci fi genre.

Sticks and Strings

Finished Casting Spells by Barbara Bretton yesterday. Very cute novel. My mom got if for me a gifty since I'm obsessed with knitting and magic. Its one of those books once you start it its hard to put down. It will make you laugh, and believe in true love. The book is basicly about this women Chole Hobbs who owns a knitting shop called Sticka and Strings in a magical town of Sugar Maple. Her best friends are a wicth, feae and a shape shifter. She stands out in the town as the only true human living there who is the ancetsor of the founder of the town. When a murder happens in her town a poilcemen Luke comes to investigate. Chole falls in love with him and finds her true destiny. Great read, I highly recomend it.

Hannibal the Cannibal

So yesterday at work I finished Hannibal by Thomas Harris. What a spectacular novel. Its really a shame that it got so butchered in the movie. So if you have seen the movie (or not) I highly suggest you read this book. Like other books that have been turned into movies, I much prefer the book. Once you get reading this you will not be able to put it down. I also like that in this book you get a glimpse of why Dr. Lecter is the way he if. For his full background story I would suggest reading Hannibal Rising also by Thomas Harris. That book gives you the full story of how he became what he is in Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal. A warning to those these books are very dark and creepy. Which I personally love to read, but some might not. Brillently written with twists and turns you would never see coming.
